CLIMBING FOR BLIND PEOPLE

During this month of November, the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade Primary students experienced a different day of Physical Education, doing an adapted sport class such as climbing for the blind in the sports center’s climbing wall.

One of the objectives of the session was for them to know the advantages that this sport has for the integral development of the child, such as the improvement of resistance, flexibility, balance or coordination.

On the other hand, another objective was that they put themselves in the place of blind people and learn first-hand the difficulties that these types of people experience on a daily basis. This activity helped them improve their self-confidence and coping skills.

The “blind” students were accompanied at all times by a classmate who acted as a guide. In this way, confidence in the rest of the classmates is enhanced and social relations are favored.
