One of the key points to be able to offer quality teaching is to work with few students. After my recent experience as a student, I have been able to appreciate the importance of working with small groups in the classroom.

First of all, I would like to highlight one of the most important aspects of this: group membership. Working with small groups allows you to create more with each of the classmates with whom you will improve a long way, and developing that affection with your classmates has a very significant impact on learning. This is a very important factor, since as in most cases the development in any field of happiness and motivation of the person.

On the other hand, involving the student at all times is fundamental, since it favors integration and inclusion in their learning process. As I was able to verify in my university years, in this way a more collaborative, dynamic and fun environment is created between professor and students. I have been fortunate to belong to large and smaller groups in the classroom, and can only say that a student’s participation in the class IS EVERYTHING. When you really learn is when you participate and enter into an atmosphere of debate, both with your classmates and with the teacher, and when there are many people in the classroom, the possibility of intervening frequently is very low.

Lastly, I would like to highlight the importance of knowing the student well, and working with small groups allows us to offer more flexible and personalized attention, thus improving the quality of teaching and therefore favoring student learning. Therefore, it is essential to place special emphasis on the individual needs of each person and value diversity in the classroom, and the best way to offer individualized attention is to work with few students.
